Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered – Peter Gets a New Face

Spider-Man is getting a new look and more in the remastered version of the PS4 game. It’s a shame it’s not free upgrade for the PS4 version. Basically got to pay for it twice ! >(

Taken from VG247… Marvel’s Spider-Man sure has been spruced up for the PS5. Sony has provided details on what to expect from the updated version of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered which is included as a voucher with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales: Ultimate Edition on PS5.

According to Sony, this version of Spider-Man is a “full next-gen remastering” with new assets, technology, updates, and three new suits.

With the graphics, Insomniac updated the city’s environment wth improved models, materials, ray-traced reflections, and ambient shadows. With these improvements, you will see better reflections in the windows of buildings, along with new skies and weather.

You can expect a high frame rate through Performance Mode, which targets 60fps, near-instant loading, Spatial 3D Audio on compatible headphones, and with the controller, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers.

Characters have also been given an upgrade with higher fidelity skin, eye, and teeth shaders. Upgrades also include individually-rendered strands of hair.

One of the biggest changes is the new face of Peter Parker. Insomniac said that while it “loved working” with John Bubniak on the original game, they wanted to better match Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture. So, it cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console.

You can see the new face of Spidey in the video below.

The standard edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available physically and digitally on PS4 and PS5.

The PS4 version of Miles Morales offers a free upgrade for the PS5 standard edition. And if you purchase or upgrade to the PS5 Standard Edition, you can get a paid-upgrade offer from the in-game menu to download Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered.

But the only way to get the remastered version of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS5 included is with the Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition which comes with the voucher code. It will run you $69.99/€79.99/£69.99.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales releases on November 12.
