AMD Ryzen 5000 Zen 3 “Warhol” on the Roadmap

This unconfirmed roadmap looks interesting … even before the next-gen Zen 3 Vermeer is release, there’s already rumors of a follow-up names “Warhol”.

Taken from Videocardz … Posted by @MebiuW on Twitter (now deleted), the picture appears to be from some kind of an internal roadmap. It not only mentions “Warhol”, so far an unknown codename, but also two letters from a codename Raphael.

AMD Raphael is currently associated with AMD Zen4 architecture. The word “Nav” appears to refer to Navi. We are not sure this means that Raphael has built-in iGPU or there is some kind of interconnect between Navi-based GPU and CPU. If these series have iGPU then it would be a major change for mainstream AMD desktop processors, which did not have onboard graphics (note we are not talking about AM4 APUs listed in the previous story).

Warhol would be a predecessor to Raphael. The diagram clearly does not mention any graphics, which further suggest that we are looking at pure compute Ryzen series. The block appears to be in between two architecture, hence it could also refer to a refresh (such as Matisse Refresh). Clearly, there are more questions than answers but at least now we know about a new codename (and there are a lot).

Andy Warhol was an American artist, film director, and producer.
