Sony Announces PlayStation Exclusive Series “Marvel’s Spider Man” to Launch on PC

Marvel’s Spider Man is launching on PC … there you go! 😀

Taken from TPU … Sony has announced yet another step on its work to bring its typically console-exclusive games towards the PC platform. After launching critically and consumer-acclaimed titles such as Guerrilla’s Horizon Zero Dawn and Sony Santa Monica’s God of War (which recently even saw the addition of PC-centric technologies such as AMD’s FSR 2.0), Sony seems to be willing to forego its walled-garden approach to exclusives as it extends its exclusive player base towards the PC platform. Spider Man: Remastered will come out first, in August 12th, while Spider Man: Miles Morales has been given a tentative “Fall” release window.

Having collectively sold more than 33 million copies, Marvel’s Spider Man and Spider Man: Miles Morales stand as one of Sony’s most successful exclusives, despite their platform exclusivity. The Spider Man: Remastered and Spider Man: Miles Morales titles will be ported to PC by Nixxes Software, who already carry ports for Crystal Dynamics’ rebooted Tomb Raider franchise and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided under their belt.

In Nixxes Software fashion, the port won’t be a simple, straight one, and will instead include added ray tracing features and adjustable settings. NVIDIA’s GeForce social media account on Twitter interacted with the announcement, which may be indicative of some of the company’s technologies being integrated with the ported titles.

“I am extremely pleased with our collaboration with Insomniac on the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, the shared support provided between our teams and their dedication to quality above all is inspiring. It allows our team to leverage our technical expertise and focus on creating the best possible PC experience that takes advantage of all the exciting possibilities the PC platform has to offer.

Our team has always been big fans of the work from Insomniac and partnering with them to bring Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to PC in the best way we can is something we are incredibly excited about.”
