Square Enix has announced Forspoken developer Luminous Productions is to merge back into Square Enix. The company says the merger is part of its efforts to further competitive prowess of the Group’s development studios, which Luminous Productions can contribute with AAA title development capabilities but also technical expertise in areas such as game engine development.

Luminous Productions has commented on the merger by stating they remain committed to improving Forspoken with a performance update coming soon, plus a prequel DLC “In Tanta We Trust” due out this summer.
