AMD Shows Off Their Next-Gen Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 CPU

Running Halo Infinite with all-core frequency of 5 GHz!

Taken from Videocardz… During its 2022 Product Premiere AMD demonstrated its next-gen processor with a short gameplay video.

AMD not only confirmed the leaks featuring a unique AM5 CPU integrated heat spreader design but also confirmed it will be the first desktop Ryzen for LGA socket. A prototype of Zen4-based Ryzen 7000 CPU codename “Raphael” has been used for Halo Infinite demo.

The 1080p Halo Infinite gameplay video was prerecorded and lack details on the framerate, although AMD CEO Lisa Su said it is ‘high’. Furthermore, despite the fact that next-gen desktop Ryzen 7000 CPUs are to feature integrated RDNA2 GPUs, the demo featured a desktop Geforce RTX 3080 graphics card attached to a prototype LGA1718 reference system.

AMD confirmed that during this demo, the test CPU was hitting 5.0 GHz on all Zen4 cores, suggesting that a peak turbo frequency for a single core is actually higher. Coincidentally, Intel demoed its Core i9-12900KS CPU hitting 5.2 GHz on all P-cores just 2 hours later.
